c) The owner or occupant of real property shall keep their buildings and yards clear of anything that may unduly increase the probability or danger of fire.

Yup, that is the Terrace Mountain fire in the background.
And yup, that would be one of those crazy (yup crazy) Westsider's in the photo.
We blacked out the face so that nobody would get into any trouble over this photo going public.

Tylenol Recall

Put your cell phone on speakerphone and throw it on the seat instead of buying an ear piece.

Lets not just ban cell phones while driving

Ladies caught with lipstick in their purse while driving will be fined LOL!

Maybe there should be a law that everyone drive alone in a vehicle because the person sitting next to them may be a distraction!  Can't take your friends for a drive anymore!  How about no more morning drive-thru coffee too?  What if the coffee spills and burns you?  Wonder how many accidents are due to hot coffee?  Government is just too ridiculous, don't ya thing!  Government should be fined every time someone breaks the law!  Isn't it the Governments responsibility for these stupid laws?  We know many people that will break this law, because it is stupid!  There are only some people who are stupid enough to get into an accident while driving and talking on a cell phone but now nobody can talk on a cell phone because of a select few ... how stupid is that?  People drive and talk on the cell phones all the time and there aren't that many accidents compared to how many accidents are caused because of other reasons other than a cell phone!  The person getting into an accident while talking on a cell phone probably couldn't drive to start with!  What is the difference an ear piece or not, your still distracted.  The person sitting next to you in the passenger seat or back seat could be just as much a distraction if not more than a cell phone.  Your kids say get into a scuffle in the back seat while you are driving.  Too bad we couldn't ban bugs and bees while driving ... or hey better yet lets make a law that keeps everyone from rolling down their windows!  Or how about everyone quit drinking and driving (this includes all beverages and not just alcoholic).  Gee people get into accidents while driving maybe we should ban driving and everybody walk.  Do you see the logic?
Watching CHBC news it doesn't look like many people are listening to the new hands free law that includes mp3 players LOL.

How about just one law.  Can't take both hands off the wheel.  If your caught driving with one hand off the wheel, your banned from driving for life??

$167 fine and 3 points on your license if you are caught driving while HOLDING your cell phone!!!

Laws are designed so you can break them

B.C. mother files complaint about new charges on her teens' cellphone accounts

I woke up angry this morning because...when I cancelled my cable a year or so ago...instead of sending me my last bill they sent my last bill to the collection agent. So I complained and they said that is how they do it ...they don't send bills to people who are not on their service. This was a year ago and I had an angry flashback about it this morning. Woke up, ready to write them another letter saying WTF!

BEWARE of TELUS HIGH SPEED WIRELESS INTERNET STICK
We got charged 15 cents for a text message and the data download plan is inadequate for the amount of data we use.
Telus ADSL costs between $20 to $58, and for $58 per month you get a whole 100 GB data and not just 5 GB of data like you do with Telus wireless internet stick LARGEST plan.  Telus Communications lowest cost landline ADSL plan permits 10 GB of data while the largest plan allows 100 GB.
Telus Mobility's LARGEST wireless internet stick plan is $85 per month for ONLY 5 GB data + 5¢/MB for overage!  And don't get stuck with a
$5,000 bill like this person almost did!
We would rather pay $58 per month for ADSL than pay $218 per month and maybe more for Telus Mobility wireless high speed USB mobile internet stick!

Read more about Telus Mobility high speed wireless USB internet key (stick) here.  See bills and all.

The BC Government condoned people to become smoking addicts and are suing tobacco companies AGAIN.
Makes sense doesn't it?
The BC Government is going after tobacco companies claiming they are making people sick.  But it was government whom gained tax money and permitted the tobacco companies to sell tobacco, and allowed this addiction in the first place.  Who is the sick one??  Now the BC Government is stressing how bad collecting all that tax money really was?
Isn't this just another one of the BC Government's flip flops??
Do you think the BC Government should be charged with accessory to murder, if anything they are the regulators and they have every bit of the power and control?
If you ask us, it is the Government that is making people sick and the Government are the ones that should be charged if anybody!  The BC Government already lost their case to tobacco companies back in 2003, as the court ruling then was in favour of tobacco companies.  Why would the BC Government waste more of our tax money, just so the Government can ask to collect more taxes?  What kind of azzhole is the BC Government to do this to its people anyway, smoker or non-smoker!!

I don't need sex, the government f***s me everyday.

Public Consultations Background
Background: Parliamentary Review of FIPPA
Section 80 of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) requires that the Act be reviewed by a special committee of the Legislative Assembly every six years, with the first six-year period to begin on October 4, 1997.

The first review was undertaken by an all-party Special Committee between 1997 and 1999. The Committee heard from 84 presenters at nine public hearings and considered 136 written submissions. Its Report recommended 18 legislative amendments and was adopted by the House on July 15, 1999.

The second review was undertaken by an all-party Special Committee between 2003 and 2004. This Committee heard from 22 presenters at public hearings in Vancouver and Victoria and received 53 written submissions. Its Report was adopted by the House on May 19, 2004, and 16 of the Committee’s 28 recommendations remain to be implemented by policy or legislation.

-----------------------------

Can you believe that is all the written submissions they received?  There may have been 62 less presenters the second time around due to only holding public hearings at two locations instead of 9 locations like at the first public hearing, although there were less written submissions the second time around as well.

CRTC asks Canadians to comment on the so-called TV tax on special web site

Hearings are set to begin next Monday in Gatineau, Que., and Canadians only have until Dec. 21 to comment online at

http://television.askingcanadians.com/

---------------------------------------------------

Fee for carriage is only part of the story, as broadcasters are also seeking to: block U.S. signals; leave some Canadian communities without over-the-air television; and delay the transition to digital television transmission until 2013.

The prospect of blocking U.S. television signals will come as a shock to many, but both CTV and CanWest, Canada's two largest private broadcasters, have asked the CRTC to establish a new program-deletion policy.

http://www.thestar.com/news/

-----------------------------------------------------

The CRTC says it has received more than 190,000 comments about the bitter, contentious debate.

Nearly 115,000 comments arrived via the broadcasters's "Local TV Matters" campaign, while approximately 49,000 were sparked by the "Stop the TV Tax" initiative introduced by the cable and satellite companies.

Other campaigns resulted in 8,300 comments. Meanwhile, the broadcast regulator has received an additional 16,700 comments sent directly to its website.

Some participants have inquired what the Commission plans to do with the comments. Let me assure you that the comments are being used as part of our ongoing analysis of the topics explored and will be taken into account when preparing our report to the government. DISTURBING FACT ABOUT SOCIAL ASSISTANCE

MAXIMUM ASSISTANCE FOR RENT = $375

For employable singles, the maximum assistance you would be eligible to receive for one month no matter what your rental payments really are.

$375 Shelter
$235 Support
= $610 per month max. assistance?

But in many cases rent alone costs more than $375! Check out the classifieds and see for yourself.

If you are a person with disabilities or a senior:

$375 Shelter
$531 Support
= $906 per month max. assistance

Seniors get $296 more per month than someone younger.  Why?

Why End Poverty?
ELP believes unemployment and poverty are not the fault of individual poor people. They are caused by government policies and legislation. For example, low minimum wages and welfare rates keep people living far below the lines of poverty.

It use to be that a person on assistance was eligible for free tooth extractions, but not anymore.  It could cost between $38 - $100 or maybe even more.

If the homeless need low cost dental, there is a 7 month wait at Kelowna's Gospel Mission which is the only low cost dental clinic in the Kelowna / Vernon BC area, plus Kelowna's Gospel Mission is not taking new referrals.

And if the homeless needed dental care between Christmas and New Years and they didn't have the $200 because it is during the holidays, they were out of luck and had to live with the puss seeping from their gums and being poisoned.

That is just how well paying a government works.  You get nothing in return but pain!

Ministry pays 72% on dental work for kids and the disabled.  Warning though, these kids and the disabled may be charged more if the dentist charges more than the recommended fee as recommended in the non-mandatory BC Dental Associations fee guide that is not published online, but may be located at a large municipal library.

The ministry's fee schedule for dental services for eligible people on income and disability assistance and children served through the BC Healthy Kids Program is 72 per cent of the BC Dental Association's 2007 fee guide.

B.C. homeless win right to camp in parks
CBC News - December 9, 2009

Homeless people can camp temporarily in public parks if municipalities can't provide them with sufficient alternative shelter, British Columbia's highest court ruled Wednesday.

Have you ever given thought to why in Canada so many people are forced to rent and can't afford to buy a home?  Wouldn't you call renting, temporary shelter?

To Government: Please allow me some control over your spending of my income. Signed Pissed off Taxpayer.
