It seems strange to me that we were promised sewage over 10 years ago and we still have septic tanks. Then, when a new development goes in, they get sewage pipes right away????? Please explain. I remember many years ago some women tied and chained themselves to the blades of bulldozers which were situated on the wetlands by Marshall Fields. The red-winged blackbirds were very appreciative. Now, more and more "wetlands" (where bullrushes grow) are being dug up. Who cared about the red-winged blackbirds when the city people were tearing up the side of Okanagan Landing Road and knocking down and demolishing their nests this year? I care. The Okanagan Landing Fire hall has been a community builder here for a long time. They always set off fireworks and served hot chocolate at Hallowe'en; had a big Christmas do and passed out candy canes; cooked and served a pancake breakfast during the Landing Regatta in the summer. You say you want small communities and the first thing you do is take away a solid fellowship who did a lot for us and maintained pride in our community. They even put a float into the Vernon Winter Carnival every year. Why are you disbanding them???? Please explain
